Tracker · Kangaroo

The first kangaroo sculpture coin

The idea of the series „Tracker“ is to show different hand and/or footprints of animals in their natural environment and the behavior of researchers in their habitat.
The second issue is dedicated to the Red Kangaroo, the World’s largest marsupial.

An adult male red kangaroo is taller than most people. It can stand up to 7 feet (2.1 m) tall and weigh up to 205 pounds (93 kg), which makes it the world’s largest marsupial. Despite the fact that it grows to such a big size, a newborn red kangaroo is tiny. The joey is about one inch (2.5 cm) long, or the size of a grape. It’s hard to believe that such a little baby will grow up to be a king-sized kangaroo.
It is found in arid and semi arid habitats. Animals are de-pendant on green herbage, and populations subsequently decline during drought periods (Croft and Clancy 2008). It is capable of traveling long distances (over 200 km) in respon-se to localized rainfall.
